The Ability Society is offering a free desktop technician program that combines an instructor led classroom & life/job skills development. The course will provide the technical information for persons with special needs to work on a help desk. In addition it will provide the necessary life and job skills to enable the participants to maintain their positions. Classroom sizes would remain small.

- To be enrolled the participant understands:
- Basic experience using Windows XP Operating System (OS).
- Basic understanding of using Windows accessories including Internet Explorer
- Basic understanding of core OS technology, including installation & configuration
- Basic understanding of hardware components & their functioning.
- Basic understanding of the major desktop components, interfaces & their functions.
- Basic understanding of Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) settings.
- Basic understanding of using command line utilities to manage the OS.
- Basic understanding of technologies that are available to establish Internet connectivity.

- AISH recipients residing in the Calgary region are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants and eligible to work in Canada
- Present with a medical or physical condition that affects their ability to work.
- Strong interest in providing customer service and working in a business/office environment
- To be enrolled the participant understands:
